Berlin 2025 — steel erection for a manufacturing and logistics hall
A new manufacturing and logistics hall in Berlin required the assembly of a primary and secondary steel structure across a large footprint, with tight tolerances demanded by the client’s production equipment layout. Column base positions, rafter apex levels and eaves heights all had to be within specified tolerances to ensure that the subsequent crane gantry, mezzanine and cladding works could proceed without remediation.
COME WORKS was appointed as steel erection subcontractor on a fixed-price, fixed-programme basis — the conditions under which German general contractors prefer to work. We mobilised a full erection team, completed the pre-erection anchor bolt survey within the first day, and commenced column erection on schedule. The structure was completed within the agreed programme and handed over with a structural engineer’s survey confirming compliance with all dimensional tolerances.
Berlin — a competitive market where reliability is the differentiator
The Berlin construction market is one of the most active in Germany. Subcontractor reliability — or its absence — is well known among general contractors in the region. A subcontractor that performs on the first project in Berlin builds a pipeline of repeat work; one that fails on programme or quality builds nothing.
COME WORKS entered the Berlin market with the same approach that has defined our work in Austria for the past several years: certified workforce, own equipment, single point of contact, zero punch list at handover. The result in Berlin was the same as the result in Vienna or Innsbruck — a project delivered as specified, and a general contractor who called again.
“Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich — the same standard in every city. That is the only way to build a reputation in the German market.”
