Project details
The main goal of this project was the installation and welding of massive pipes, designed to transport water across steep, mountainous terrain to ensure efficient hydropower generation. The challenging landscape required our team to perform welding operations at great heights with precision and care, ensuring the structural integrity and longevity of the pipeline system.
Construction Process
Site Preparation: The team began by preparing the construction site at elevated positions in the mountains, ensuring that all safety protocols were strictly followed. Due to the steep terrain, access to the site was limited, requiring the use of specialized equipment and expertise to navigate the challenging environment.
Pipe Installation: As seen in the photos, heavy pipes were carefully aligned using cranes and other machinery to ensure precise positioning. These pipes play a crucial role in transporting water from the mountains to the hydropower facility, where it is used for energy generation.
High-Altitude Welding: Welding the pipes at such elevated heights posed unique challenges, including harsh weather conditions and difficult working angles. Our team of experts utilized advanced welding techniques to securely join the pipes, ensuring that the welds withstand high pressure and remain watertight for years to come.
Quality Control and Testing: Each section of the welded pipes underwent thorough inspection and testing to meet the highest safety and durability standards. This process included non-destructive testing methods to verify the integrity of the welds without compromising the structure.
